The Stamps Department, with an average of sold lots above 90% and an increase of the sales value of over 200%, has reached memorable goals in a very short time placing itself within the international panorama among the leaders of the field.
The historical fascination and economic value that have always characterized stamps, envelopes and letters have made Philately one of the most widespread forms of collecting in the world.
The exceptional turnover exceeding €1.4 million reached in 2021 confirms the strong national relevance of the department and its recognized authority among philatelists worldwide. A trust that has been gained over time, thanks to the meticulous research and selection of works whose purpose is to present in the catalogue more and more prestigious collections.
The first result of 2022 confirms the department's authority internationally, with numerous bidders participating worldwide to bid on important collections, including the nucleus dedicated to the Antichi Stati italiani. Among the best sales, were the 1.75 lire brown with the portrait of "Vittorio Emanuele III" (lot 106, sold € 10,625) and the collection of cosmograms in which the most important ones were the space mission Apollo12 (lot 227, sold € 8,125) and Apollo15 "Sieger" (lot 228, sold € 9,375). Excellent revaluations also for some Chinese specimens of the '60s.
