DALI, Salvador (1904-1989) - Biblia Sacra vulgatae editionis. Rome: Rizzoli-Mediolani, 1967-1969. One of 99 copies ad personam on handmade paper: the rare "tirage-de-téte" with the original signed gouache by Dali. The gouache is the original for the colour lithograph illustrated in vol. II Cadaver in sepulchro Elisei ("The body in Elisha's Tomb"). With the publisher's signed certificate of authenticity and in mint condition. 5 volumes in folio (475 x 352mm), framed original gouache, gold multiple of the artist's hand. 105 coloured lithographs with printed guards. Original green morocco, spines with raised bands, compartments with gilt and painted floral sprays, gilt inner dentelles, pale green moiré doublures, top edges gilt, others rough-trimmed, original green morocco and pale green moiré slipcases (few light defects to slipcases, spines very lightly faded). Original gouache on paper (pinned at corners on paper and plywood with tiny nails), signed ('Dali 1965'), framed and glazed (470 x 345 mm). Provenance: by direct descend - 'Veritable Papier d'Arches' (blind-stamp on verso of gouache). R. Michler and L.W.
