[ALPINISMO - FREJUS] - VIALARDI, Alberto Luigi (1833-1912) - La photographie au percement des Alpes. Album historique. Turin and Florence: Fratelli Boccca, 1868. An interesting album containing photogaphs of the construction of the Frejus tunnel. Among the images there are views of Bardonecchia in the mid-19th-century, the construction sites at both ends between Modane and Fourneaux and the different phases of the construction works. The works is illustrated with original photographs applied on green paper and therefore it was probably published in just a small number of copies. Oblong folio (278 x 360mm). A table of the "Profil longitudinal e plan généeral" and 9 original photograhs with explanatory text leaves (some light marginal spotting to text leaves). Flexible brown cloth decorated in blind and titled in gilt (some light rubbing and waterstaining).
