[GASTRONOMIA, CACCIA E AGRICOLTURA] - BACCI, Andrea (1524-1600) - De naturali vinorum Historia. Rome: Nicolo Muzi, 1596 [al colophon 1597]. First edition of this important treatise on enology and gastronomy by Bacci describing the wines of Italy, Spain, France and other European countries and focusing on the history and preparation. Brunet I, 599: "Ouvrage rare et recherhe". Folio (319 x 216mm). Architectural engraved title with portrait of the author and arms of the Colonna family, a full-page engraved illustration with a curios machine to make wine, woodcut initials and headpieces, with errata at end (some light staining and occasional browning). 19th-century vellum, spine decorated in gilt with red label (later endpapers, some light rubbing and staining). Provenance: early ownership inscriptions on title of which one erades - Delvecchio (bookplate). The lot is accompanied by a export license.
