[GABRIELLO, Bruno inc. (1480-1514)] - Biblia cum tabula nuper impressa & cum summariis nouiter editis. Venice: Simone Bevilaqua, die octauo Maii 1498. Incunabula illustrated by 69 woodcut vignettes, including a larger one at B1 recto, a family tree in T1 verso and 54 floral-grotesque woodcut initials, many of them painted in ancient times. Probability the pigments used are raw sienna, burnt sienna and white lead, dark sienna. There is an other red color, probably more recent, dating back to the first three decades of 1500 thanks to a paleographic dating of note at X5 recto. 4to (210 x 150mm). Printer's device at the verso of the last folio, unpainted minor woodcut initials, some initial painted in red, eg. to quire R, marginalia, guide-letters, haf-title at 1 recto, colophon at hh10v, gothic writing, 51 lines of text on two columns as follows (1-4)8 a-[s lunga]8 s-z8 [et]8 [con]8 [rum]8 A-Z8 aa-gg8 hh10 AA-DD8 EE4 (lacking quires (5-8)8 and a10 and leaves g6 and V7, from AA the upper margin are cropped and this affects the text at the top, some brown stains at the edges, light spotting, some browning, some soiling, light signs of woodworm at the edges in contact with the boards, some faces of the woodcuts characters are darkened, probably due to the ferrous component of the burnt sienna and the lead of the white lead). Quarter calf with wooden imitation cardboard and spine in bordeaux leather with three nerves, probably in imitation of the original binding (lightly rubbed, some signs of woodworm, more evident rubbing at the spine and at the headcap). Provenance: many handwritten notes of which one relevant at 1 verso, from different hands (XV-XVI centuries), small drawing at a2 recto, numerous pointing hand, note cancelled from bb6 recto.
